Ingredients
- 8 oz pasta (penne, spaghetti, or your choice)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in ½ cup of the reserved pasta water and reduce heat to low. Gradually add the Parmesan cheese while stirring until melted and smooth.
- Toss the drained pasta into the sauce, adding more reserved water if necessary to reach desired consistency. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh herbs if desired.
