- 8 ounces medium pasta shells
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small sweet onion (diced)
- 5 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup beef stock
- 1 (15 oz) can marinara sauce
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups freshly grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, browning it for about 3-5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Sauté diced onion in the same skillet for about 2 minutes; then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Whisk in flour until lightly browned. Gradually add beef stock and marinara sauce along with seasonings; simmer until slightly thickened.
- Stir in cooked pasta and reserved beef mixture until well-coated.
- Mix in heavy cream until heated through. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Fold in grated cheese until melted and serve hot.
