  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 ½ tsp Cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Toss chicken pieces with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and cook the chicken until golden brown (6-8 minutes). Transfer to a plate.
  4. Lower the heat and melt butter in the same skillet. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  5. Stir in red pepper flakes, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, parsley, and chives; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Return chicken and drained pasta to the skillet; toss with sauce and reserved pasta water as needed for creaminess. Stir in Parmesan cheese.
  7. Serve hot with extra garnish if desired.
