Ingredients
- 8 ounces Penne Pasta
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 medium Yellow Onion
- 1 pound Ground Turkey
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- 1 cup Tomato Sauce
- ½ cup Half-and-half
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
- Fresh Parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil salted water in a large pot. Cook penne according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Reserve about a cup of pasta water, drain, and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté chopped onion for about 5 minutes until soft.
- Add ground turkey to the skillet, cooking for about 6-8 minutes until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning; stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Sprinkle flour over the turkey mixture and stir continuously for one minute. Gradually add chicken broth and tomato sauce. Simmer for about 3-5 minutes until thickened.
- Fold cooked penne into the sauce; stir in half-and-half, adjusting thickness with reserved pasta water if necessary.
- Lower heat and mix in half of the mozzarella and cheddar until melted. Top with remaining cheese, cover for a few minutes to melt further.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
