Ingredients
- 400 grams spaghetti
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Zest from 1 lemon
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for serving)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil and sauté the garlic and red pepper flakes for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat. Gradually add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- Mix in parsley and lemon zest; season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnishing with grated Parmesan cheese and additional parsley.
