Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté sliced garlic for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- Add red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Toss the drained pasta into the skillet, mixing well with the garlic oil. Gradually add reserved pasta water until reaching desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley, lemon zest, and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese and parsley if desired.
