Ingredients
- 1 (13oz) pack chicken or turkey cajun sausage (cut into coins)
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- 1 (14.5oz) can chicken broth
- ½ cup heavy cream or coconut cream
- 1 (10oz) can diced tomatoes and chilies
- 8 ounces dry bowtie pasta
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp cajun seasoning
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned (about 5 minutes). Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic in the remaining grease for about a minute.
- Add chicken broth, diced tomatoes, heavy cream, and cajun seasoning; stir in dry pasta.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for about 14 minutes until pasta is al dente.
- Mix in the reserved sausage and cheddar cheese until well combined.
