Ingredients
- 8 ounces uncooked pasta
- 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
- 2–3 cloves minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 can (14 ounces) tomato sauce
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Boil pasta in salted water until al dente (8-10 minutes). Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute.
- Stir in tomato paste and tomato sauce, mixing well.
- Reduce heat and add heavy cream and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine drained pasta with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water for desired consistency.
- Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan if desired.
