Ingredients
- 12 ounces rigatoni pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground turkey (or beef)
- 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- Fresh chopped basil for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook rigatoni according to package directions until al dente and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- 2. In a large sauté pan over medium-low heat, add olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
- 3. Increase heat to medium-high, then add ground turkey (or beef). Cook until browned, crumbling as it cooks.
- 4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, chopped basil, salt, and pepper; cook until heated through.
- 5. Add cooked rigatoni and reserved pasta water to the sauce; toss gently to coat.
- 6. Serve garnished with fresh basil and shredded Parmesan cheese.
